Lou Djehinan Véronique
Voix d’Elle
Niamey«One day, our voices will be heard!» Lou Djehinan Véronique sings loudly. Her expressive solo gives presence to all those women who have experienced (sexualised) violence – creating a dance manifesto against silence and oblivion. With a blend of flowing movements and resistant gestures, the Ivorian artist dances in defiance of experiences of violence. Accompanied by a soundtrack of both Western and African sounds, she denounces femicide and gender-based violence as global issues. «Voix d’Elle» is a powerful plea against stigmatisation – and for healing and self-empowerment.
