Voix d’Elle

Niamey
Lou Djehinan Véronique: Voix d'Elle | @Marie Charbonnier

«One day, our voices will be heard!» Lou Djehinan Véronique sings loudly. Her expressive solo gives presence to all those women who have experienced (sexualised) violence – creating a dance manifesto against silence and oblivion. With a blend of flowing movements and resistant gestures, the Ivorian artist dances in defiance of experiences of violence. Accompanied by a soundtrack of both Western and African sounds, she denounces femicide and gender-based violence as global issues. «Voix d’Elle» is a powerful plea against stigmatisation – and for healing and self-empowerment.
