After the destruction caused by the 2007 war in the Palestinian refugee camp of Nahr el-Bared in northern Lebanon, the remains of the ancient city of Orthosia unexpectedly emerged from beneath the ruins. Artists Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige follow the traces of this layered history shaped by displacement, archaeology, and memory. Their artistic research explores the hidden strata of history and asks how the past is remembered, uncovered, and claimed.
