Tamara Cubas
Multitud (Indoor Version)
MontevideoWhen many bodies come together, something powerful emerges. «Multitud» brings together around 80 non-professional dancers from Zurich, with part of the city itself taking to the stage. They find one another and move as a collective body. A force takes shape that draws people in and creates connection. Coming together becomes a political act – against isolation, for different forms of togetherness. Not an image of community, but an immediate experience. With this internationally acclaimed work, Uruguayan choreographer Tamara Cubas sets the energy of an entire city in motion.

When the crowd moves as one, the world stands still. When many bodies come together, something more than dance emerges: an event.
«Multitud» is a powerful, collective dance experience – a unique gathering of energy, presence and movement. In times of increasing isolation, shared experience itself becomes a political act.
For this internationally acclaimed piece, the Uruguayan choreographer Tamara Cubas brings together more than 80 performers from Zurich. They develop and rehearse the piece, finding one another, breathing and moving as a collective body. Members of the city take to the stage.
What emerges is a pulsating fabric of rhythm, proximity and intensity, in which individual impulses and collective dynamics continually reshape each other. «Multitud» is more than a choreography: a physical statement on diversity, resistance and collective power – and the energy of a city in motion.
