«Révolte» is what it promises: 60 minutes of pure energy, ground-breaking stunts and a load of spectacular physical feats. Five female artists dance, move, float and balance their way through several dimensions of space with dizzying virtuosity, defying gravity in the process. Whether on a high rope or in a spinning wheel revolving around its axis – «Révolte» is acrobatic art in its most creative realisation. Two of the artists also accompany the evening musically, literally rocking the stage with their explosive mix of electro and punk.
The company Les filles du renard pâle, founded in France in 2016, has set out to breaknew grounds and push boundaries. With their latest creation, the group, led by director and tightrope walker Johanne Humblet, presents a wild and highly sensual evening somewhere between circus and live concert. The female artists and musicians unite all their strength in trying to break free from social constraints. Even if they fail time and again, they do so in a very humorous, self-deprecating way and persevere. Revolution is no child’s play, but in the case of «Révolte» it is an unforgettable and inspiring experience for young and old alike. (af)
