«On vous voit» – the title says it all: We see you. The latest performance by French artist Samir Laghouati-Rashwan focuses on the gaze as an instrument of power relations: Who is looking? Who is being looked at? What do we want to see in our counterpart? The audience sits very close to the stage on all four sides. They look at each other, they watch the two men in the centre, they watch themselves watching. In this short performance, Laghouati-Rashwan and dancer Trésor address the racist fetishisation that has found its way into the world of digital dating apps. (hd)
