Baro d’evel is back! Following the great success of 2023, the French-Catalan company presents their new creation to open the Theater Spektakel at the Werft. In an overwhelming visual spectacle, «Qui Som?» confronts us with major questions about the future.
The piece, which captivated audiences at its world premiere in the summer of 2024 at the Festival d’Avignon, explores the role of art in a world in turmoil. Absurdly comic and wonderfully poetic, it challenges us with fundamental questions: Who are we? How can we rediscover joy in a world filled with crises and catastrophes? How can we tell stories that offer comforting perspectives despite ouranxieties about the future?
At the crossroads of acrobatics, choreography, music, and visual arts, Baro d’evel has created an overwhelming visual sequence that captures both touching and unsettling images of the major issues of today, while an explosion of forms andmaterials reveals a vision of a future world – one shaped by clay and human bodies that defy hopelessness and self-destruction. «Qui Som?» is a hymn to vitality, togetherness, encounter, and movement. Poetic, political, musical, deeply moving, and full of life.
